I am Kathy Tran, and I am honored to represent our community in the Virginia House of Delegates.

I am committed to ensuring all families have the same opportunities that mine had to achieve their American Dream. My parents fled Vietnam as boat refugees when I was about seven months old. For my parents, this country has always represented hope, opportunity and freedom.

I am dedicated to fighting for these values, from my service in the Virginia House of Delegates to my time as a civil servant at the U.S. Department of Labor to my advocacy work at the National Immigration Forum.

I graduated from Duke University and earned a Master of Social Work degree from the University of Michigan. Now, my husband, Matt, and we have five kids, ages 5 to 16, and live in West Springfield.

Since I was first elected in 2017, I have introduced and supported legislation to lift up working families by expanding healthcare and reproductive rights, strengthening our public schools, reducing gun violence, increasing affordable housing, improving voting access, protecting our environment, and making Virginia a more welcoming and inclusive place for all.
