COVID Update

Vaccine and Booster Update

As the omicron variant spreads across the United States, it is more important than ever for everyone to get vaccinated or get their booster shot. This will help protect you and our neighbors from severe illness, hospitalizations, and death from COVID-19. It will also help slow transmission and reduce the likelihood of new variants emerging.

Note, the CDC has updated its recommendations and now advises everyone ages 18 and older to get a COVID-19 booster. They recommend that you get a booster if you received your last dose more than six months ago.

To find out the nearest location where you can receive a first dose, second dose, or booster shot for the COVID vaccine, please visit https://vaccinate.virginia.gov/

Comment on Virginia Redistricting

As I explained previously, the Virginia Supreme Court is now responsible for drawing the General Assembly and Virginia congressional maps. You can read the Court’s guidance to the map drawers here.

The comment period for the Supreme Court maps is open until Friday, December 17. You can provide comments by emailing redistricting@vacourts.gov. The Court requests that all comments must pertain to Virginia redistricting.
