Virtual Town Hall

Join me this Thursday, April 8 at 7pm for a virtual town hall. You can register for the event here and submit questions ahead of time here. 

I will be joined by Senators George Barker and Scott Surovell, and we will give updates on the 2021 legislative session.

COVID-19 Updates

Vaccine Eligibility Update

  • Governor Northam has announced that all Virginians ages 16 and older will now be eligible to register for a COVID-19 vaccine starting April 18, instead of the previous goal of May 1. 

  • To meet this updated timeline, Fairfax County has started expanding eligibility to Fairfax residents for some occupations in Phase 1C and anticipates meeting the April 18 goal. 

  • Fairfax County is *not* participating in the statewide vaccine registration system and encourages residents to register through the Fairfax Health Department when you are eligible for a vaccine here. 

Vaccination Opportunities Through Retail Pharmacies

  • As I have mentioned previously, in addition to vaccines distributed through the Virginia Health Department to local health districts, retail pharmacy chains throughout Virginia are participating in the Federal Retail Partnership and offering vaccine opportunities.

  • Some of these retail pharmacies are partnering with the local health district to vaccinate people through the health district registration system or are aligned with the eligibility criteria of the local health district. However, I have learned that some retail pharmacies are using broad eligibility criteria to offer vaccine appointments to community members on a first come, first serve basis. 

  • Though all Fairfax residents ages 16 and older will be eligible starting April 18 to register for a COVID vaccine through the Fairfax Health Department, you may also wish to look for availability through retail pharmacy chains by checking their individual websites.
