This session, General Assembly members have introduced more than 3,000 pieces of legislation. I look forward to working with my colleagues to find bipartisan solutions to ensure that all Virginians are able to thrive.

LEGISLATIVE AGENDA AND BUDGET AMENDMENTS
I have introduced all my legislation and budget amendments for the 2018 general session. My legislative agenda is focused on ensuring all Virginians are able to thrive by strengthening our public schools, having a competitive workforce, honoring our veterans and military families, standing up for women, protecting the environment, and creating a more welcoming and inclusive Virginia. This agenda reflects the conversations I had with neighbors throughout my campaign as well as meetings I have had with constituents this winter.
Below are some of the bills I have introduced:
HB 1111: Creating a STEAM (Science, technology, engineering, arts, and math) Education Fund to award grants to public schools to support academic initiatives focused in STEAM.
HB 1279: Awarding academic credit at all public institutions of higher education to veterans and military members for prior military training to help veterans successfully transition to the civilian workforce.
HB 1462: Creating a training on sexual harassment within the workplace and requiring state contractors to train their employees on sexual harassment within the workplace.

GOVERNOR NORTHAM’S STATE OF THE COMMONWEALTH ADDRESS
Governor Northam delivered his State of the Commonwealth address last Monday and shared his vision for Virginians. One of his top priorities is to expand Medicaid, and I look forward to working with him and colleagues in the House of Delegates to ensure that about 400,000 hardworking Virginians have access to healthcare.
THE LEGACY OF DR. KING
I am thankful so many took the time to meet with me and my staff in Richmond on Martin Luther King Jr. Day. We met with the Hemophilia Association of the Capitol Area, located in our district, about support for people with bleeding disorders. We also had robust conversations with constituents concerned about voting rights, protecting the Second Amendment, implementing common sense solutions to gun violence, and making our Commonwealth more inclusive.
During the week, I also had the honor to meet with constituents and members of the Fairfax County Professional Firefighters & Paramedics I.A.F.F. Local #2068 about health issues affecting our community’s first responders. Additionally, I met with constituents about voting rights, ending gerrymandering, K-12 education, Convention of States and other important issues.
While I was in-district this weekend, I joined Senators George Barker and Jennifer Wexton at a legislative session hosted by the Democratic Women of Clifton and Northern Virginia. I also met with a women's huddle group in West Springfield to share my updates from the House of Delegates. The fact that so many neighbors in our District are civically engaged is a testament to the legacy of Dr. King. I am grateful for these opportunities to continue to hear from you and look forward to connecting while I am in-district or in Richmond.
Ceremonial Swearing In
My Ceremonial Swearing-In was held this past Saturday. I am so thankful to all who were able to attend this memorable occasion, especially poignant because it during the the one year anniversary weekend of the Women’s March on Washington.
