Updated Guidelines for Phase 1b of Vaccine Plan

  • Based on updated guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), Governor Northam has announced that Phase 1b of  Virginia’s COVID-19 vaccine plan will include all Virginians ages 65 and up as well as Virginians who have underlying health conditions. This is in addition to certain frontline workers, who were previously eligible in Phase 1b. You can find the updated information and guidance here: https://www.vdh.virginia.gov/covid-19-vaccine/

  • If you are eligible under Phase 1a or Phase 1b, please contact Fairfax County to schedule an appointment to get a vaccination. On January 18, Fairfax County will open registration for individuals who are newly eligible under Phase 1b as a result of the updated guidance. More information is available on the County’s website at https://www.fairfaxcounty.gov/health/novel-coronavirus/vaccine

Funding Proposals to Support Vaccine Distribution

  • As of 1/15/20, 237,855 Virginians have received one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine and 30,475 Virginians have been fully vaccinated.

  • I am working with my colleagues to provide the necessary funding to ensure all Virginians have access to the COVID-19 vaccine as soon as possible. I support Governor Northam’s proposal to provide $90 million of state general funds to support vaccine distribution, and I will be working to ensure this is included in our final budget bill.
