My 2022 Legislative Agenda
We have concluded the first week of the 2022 Legislative Session. Our week was full of ceremony - we elected a new Speaker of the House and heard Governor Northam’s final State of the Commonwealth Address. I also attended the Inauguration Ceremonies to witness the peaceful and civil transition of power.
I have been re-appointed to serve on the House of Delegates’ Committee on Health, Welfare, and Institutions and the Committee on Agriculture, Chesapeake, and Natural Resources. These Committees debate bills that address the availability of healthcare and social services as well as strategies for protecting our environment, and I am honored to continue serving on them
My 2022 legislative agenda focuses on:
expanding health care
strengthening public education
protecting our environment
increasing consumer protections
building a competitive workforce and improving workplace safety
improving our road infrastructure
honoring our veterans and military families
building a more welcoming and inclusive Virginia.
I will finish filing my bills and budget amendments next week. In the meantime, you can see the bills that I have already introduced here.
Staying Engaged During Session
I strongly encourage you to share your input on the issues that are most important to you. You can do so by calling my office at 804-698-1042 or emailing me at DelKTran@house.virginia.gov with your feedback or to schedule an appointment. You can also write to me at PO Box 2731, Springfield, Virginia 22152.
Please note that because of the rise in COVID-19 cases in Virginia, my preference is to meet virtually via Zoom and that we require masks for all in-person meetings.
Participate in the Legislative Process
There are many ways that you can stay engaged during the legislative session, from seeing all of the bills that have been introduced to watching the floor session and committee meetings to testifying to speak about a bill. See how you can stay engaged during session.
Visiting Richmond
My office is available to help you schedule meetings with legislators and state agencies as well as to help you plan your visit to the Capitol during the session. Learn more about tips for planning your trip to Richmond.
