STATE OF EMERGENCY - GASOLINE SUPPLY 

Governor Northam issued an executive order declaring a State of Emergency in Virginia relative to the gasoline supply line interruptions created by a cyber attack on the Colonial Pipeline. 

The Colonial Pipeline is a major supplier for gasoline retailers in Virginia, and a prolonged voluntary shutdown of the Pipeline may affect our supply. 

This executive order will allow our state and local governments to coordinate and have flexibility and funding to ensure adequate fuel supply. You can read more here

PRICE GOUGING GUIDANCE

Price gouging during a state of emergency is illegal. You can report instances of price gouging, including high gas prices, to the Virginia Attorney General’s Consumer Protection Hotline at 1-800-552-9963 or by emailing at consumer@oag.state.va.us

COVID-19 VACCINE ELIGIBILITY FOR 12-15 YEAR OLDS

Today, the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention approved  the Pfizer vaccine for 12-15 year olds. You can learn more about the CDC’s decision here.

All individuals ages 12 and up may obtain a vaccine in Virginia. To do so, you can:

Schedule an appointment through the Fairfax Health Department’s Vaccine Administration Management System here.

Find an appointment nearest to you through www.VaccineFinder.org.

Go to the Tyson’s Community Vaccination Center, which accepts same day onsite registration. More information is available here.

Transportation Survey

The Virginia Department of Rail and Public Transportation is currently collecting input on how we can enhance public transit between the Franconia-Springfield Metro Station and the Quantico Marines Base.

Proposed Construction at the Meadowood Special Recreation Management Area on Mason Neck

The federal Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Eastern States, Northeastern States District is proposing to construct a covered multipurpose pavilion, parking areas, and restroom facilities at the Lower Potomac Field Station, Meadowood Special Recreation Management Area on Mason Neck.
