Community Updates
Newington Road Walkthrough
Thank you to residents who live off of Newington Road for meeting with Delegate Mark Sickles, Supervisor Dan Storck and me. I appreciated the opportunity to take a walking tour of the area and hear about concerns regarding pedestrian safety. In partnership with Senator Scott Surovell and Delegate Mark Sickles, I submitted a letter to encourage Fairfax County to approve a sidewalk or trail in the neighborhood.
Lutheran Social Services of the National Capital Area Resource
It was wonderful to visit Lutheran Social Services of the National Capital Area’s Resource Center and learn about their many services and resources to assist refugees and other immigrants. Thank you for welcoming our newest neighbors in Northern Virginia!
Judge Divani R. Nadaraja Investiture
Congrats to Judge Nadaraja on her investiture to the Fairfax County Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court, becoming the first Sri Lankan American judge in Virginia. I was honored to give her commission and know she’ll serve with a deep commitment to justice, fairness, and service.
8th Annual Tour de Mount Vernon
My staff enjoyed joining Supervisor Dan Storck and hundreds of neighbors at the 8th annual Tour de Mount Vernon bike. Thanks to Supervisor Storck, the Fairfax Alliance for Better Bicycling, National Park Service, and everyone who helped plan the event!
MOAA Council Biennial Luncheon
I was honored to join the Military Officers Association of America Virginia Council of Chapters’ biannual luncheon. I am working with MOAA to ensure equitable tax relief for surviving spouses and appreciate all they do to lift up and honor our service members, veterans, and their families!
Legislative Updates
Legislative Briefings
My team and I have been attending briefings with different advocacy groups to hear about their legislative priorities, including:

The Fairfax-Falls Church Community Services Board to discuss how they are delivering mental health, substance use disorder, and developmental disability services to over 21,000 Fairfax residents.
The Virginia Association of Nurse Anesthetists to talk about the role of CRNAs and anesthesia care in Virginia.
The Jewish Community Relations Council of Greater Washington to learn about their priorities to promote inclusivity, health care, and community safety.
Claurusway for an introduction to their IT training program.
MVLE for a briefing on their solar workforce program.
The Northern Virginia Aging Network to hear their plans for better supports for older Virginians.
WMATA for a presentation on their budget shortfalls and how that would impact our region.
