FAIRFAX, Va. – The Northern Virginia Realtors® Political Action Committee (NV/RPAC) and the Realtors® Political Action Committee (RPAC) of Virginia have endorsed Democrat Kathy Tran for the House of Delegates in House District (HD) 42 today. This endorsement was made because of Tran’s support for private property rights and understanding of issues that affect buyers and sellers of real property.
Tran, a workforce policy expert, received the endorsement based on answers to a candidate questionnaire and in-personinterviews with the NV/RPAC Trustees, a group of dedicated Realtors® who evaluate candidates for office based solely on their positions relating to the real estate industry.
"I believe Ms. Tran will be a great influence in our community as we continue to work through transportation, tax, education and other issues that affect the ability and desirability of living in Northern Virginia," said Katharine Kratovil, 2017 NV/RPAC Trustees Vice-Chair and a constituent of the 42nd District. Tran demonstrated her support of proposals that facilitate the American Dream of homeownership, be it quality of education or the avoidance of unnecessary regulation.
"I am very proud to receive this endorsement, and for all of the support we have received from business leaders across Northern Virginia," said Tran. "I am committed to advancing mainstream, bipartisan solutions to support homeowners, Realtors®, small business owners, and all working families by strengthening our public schools, reducing traffic congestion, and growing our economy.”
Said Donn Irby, 2017 Chair of the RPAC of Virginia Trustees, “The goal of RPAC is to identify and support candidates who understand the impact of real estate issues on our members, property owners and consumers. Kathy Tran has demonstrated that she will be a strong working partner with Realtors® to promote homeownership and property rights in the Virginia House of Delegates.”
HD 42 stretches from West Springfield southeast to Mason Neck and was previously held by Delegate Dave Albo (R) who is not seeking re-election.
